GUARDIANS ORGANIZATIONAL PLAYERS
Gabriel Arias (SS, La Guaira): combined 6-for-15, 7 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 4 BB (1 intentional) - Arias was unstoppable this weekend as he recorded a pair of hits each of the last three days - and even his hitless Thursday saw him reach twice via walk. There has been talk of Arias being a player the Guardians might trade this offseason. If such is the case, he is doing nothing to hurt his trade value with his Venezuelan performances.
Johnathan Rodriguez (OF/DH, Carolina): combined 1-for-18, 2 R, 3 BB (1 intentional), 5 K - Rodriguez, who - like Arias - is living on the edge of the Cleveland 40-man, was not nearly as impressive over the past four days. J-Rod began his Puerto Rican campaign on a rough note with only one hit in his first five games. The hit, however, represented something of a bright spot as it led to him scoring the only run of the Gigantesâ Friday victory.
Dayan Frias (3B, Monteria): 0-2, 1 BB,1 SB - Friasâ Vaqueros only played once over the last four days and Dayan had a relatively quiet Friday.
