Allan Hernandez (RP, AL Fall Stars): H, 1 IP, perfect - Hernandez was the lone Guardian to take the field in the Junior Circuit’s Fall Stars victory, hurling a perfect fourth frame.
Steven Perez (RP, Caracas - Fri.): 0.2 IP, perfect, 1 K - Perez, who re-signed with the Guardians organization quickly after becoming a minor league free agent, began his Venezuelan campaign on Friday in the Choque de Gigantes exhibition tournament in Miami, needing only eight pitches (seven of them strikes) to record the last two outs of the top of the seventh.
Steven Perez (RP, Caracas - Sun.): H, 0.1 IP, 1 BB - Perez once again faced two batters to end a frame, this time the bottom of the eighth, to pick up a hold in the Leones’ third place game victory.
Dayan Frias (SS-3B, Monteria): combined 11 AB, 2 R, 1 H, 2 HBP, 4 K - Frias, who continues to alternate between the two positions on the left side of the infield on a daily basis, continued to struggle at the plate to start his Colombian campaign, with most of his trips to the basepaths this weekend coming via plunking, with one each on Friday and Saturday continuing a three-game HBP streak that ended on Sunday.
Travis Bazzana (2B, Australia): The lone Guardians prospect playing in this month’s Premier12 international tournament wrapped up his pre-tourney exhibition slate this weekend (was unable to procure boxscores in time for this column) and will begin hi tournament on Wednesday at 5 AM US ET against Japan. The tournament is airing on DAZN ($15 to subscribe for a month with a Black Friday discount which should be available for the duration of the tournament as it ends before Thanksgiving).
