Analysis:
The soon-to-be former Demon Deacons' center fielder displays near top-of-the-scale speed from home to first times (posting sub for numbers). What he has in speed he lacks in power. That said, he does have some ability to sting/impact the ball (in spite of his size) into gaps and on occasion over the wall. He's not a flashy defender but gets to balls all over the outfield because of his pure speed. He is improving as a center fielder with the potential to be an above-average center fielder. Hawke understands how to utilize his speed on the base paths stealing almost 50 bases over the last 2 years. His contact-oriented approach and at the plate helped him make contact on more than 90% of fastballs in the zone in 2023. Hawke is in the same mold as familiar names like Steven Kwan, Tyler Freeman, and Will Brennan (when they were drafted) - he shows both contact skills and patience at the plate. On the field, he's a table-setter type of hitter, a gamer, dirtbag type player that leaves it on the field.
